JANE GULL
Jane Gull is a director and screenwriter who approaches filmmaking with a unique perspective. Starting as a professional dancer and choreographer, Jane has a deep appreciation for the emotional resonance that movement can bring to storytelling. Her early life in Southend and travel around the world have given her the privilege of hearing and appreciating diverse human stories, which are the bedrock of her filmmaking. Whether it be working on an indie or a studio film, Jane's ultimate goal is to create powerful stories that resonate with audiences and leave them with a lasting impression.
Her debut feature My Feral Heart premiered and won the audience award at Cinequest (USA), and with its UK premiere following at the Edinburgh International Film Festival. It was broadcast on the BBC, nominated for BIFA, won National Film TV award and was the most successful cinema-on-demand film of all time in association with Ourscreen. Jane's second feature Love Without Walls won best UK film at Manchester Film Festival and London Independent Film Festival. It's currently available on streaming platforms following a successful theatrical run. Her multi award winning short film Sunny Boy has screened at festivals all the over world and broadcast on CH4, Arte TV and Apple TV.
Jane was selected for the Edinburgh Talent Lab, Think-Shoot-Distribute (BFI) and is an alumna of the Berlin Talent Campus. Jane is a voting member of BAFTA and has sat on juries for BIFA, Lift-Off & Entr'2 Marches in Cannes. She is a patron of Essex International Film Festival and was on the 2019 BRITFLIX power list. She also choreographs and directs theatre.
Jane is currently developing a number of projects for film and television.
